Life’s a Riot: Celebrating Our Partnership With InkRiot Marketing

For Mad Cow's 15th anniversary, we're taking a moo-ment to celebrate our strategic partnership with InkRiot Marketing.

Two vintage cassette tapes are stacked on top of each other against a bright pink background. Mad Cow and InkRiot's logos sit above them.

Over the past many years, we’ve had the udder privilege of working with marketing bestie Sarah Seibert, founder of InkRiot Marketing.

We’ve had so much fun (and the websites are so gosh darn purty) that our li’l barnyard decided to look back at a few websites we’ve worked on together, as a riotous walk down memory lane. (We’re in a nostalgic mood now that we’re in our 15th year.)

So buckle up as we share a mixtape featuring some of the shenanigans we’ve gotten into!

About Four Arrows

Owners Mason and Karissa Babb of Southeastern Missouri are third-generation ranchers raising Black Angus and four children (hence the name “Four Arrows”).

After selling their beef in bulk and by the cut to local customers, they decided to expand the business to offer their family-ranch-raised beef to customers across the country.

Mad Cow + InkRiot

InkRiot developed Four Arrows’ ranch-to-table business (products, pricing, social media, etc.). So when it came time to build Four Arrows’ new website, Sarah tapped Mad Cow to collaborate on a custom-designed WordPress website to elevate the Four Arrows brand—stateside and nationally.

Project deets

  • The Four Arrows website was built in Elementor with custom layouts for each page.
  • WooCommerce was used for e-commerce, which was integrated with Square as the payment platform.
  • The site was built in phases as the business developed. More products and functionality were added later on to include shipping zones, sales taxes, and custom product emails.

What the clients had to say

“The site is AMAZING! Thank you for going the extra mile on this entire project. We appreciate the beautiful design you have built for our website. It truly is bar none!” — Karissa Babb, Four Arrows Cattle Company

About ANJO Designs

ANJO Designs brings together architecture and interior design to create custom high-end homes and boutique commercial spaces.

Mad Cow + InkRiot

ANJO Designs owner Amy Laner wanted a modern, minimalistic website design to showcase their work and honor over 10 years of serving clients throughout Colorado.

Sarah reached out to Mad Cow so they could build ANJO Designs a website that not only features their bespoke style but also celebrates their big milestone.

Project deets

  • The ANJO Designs website is built in Elementor with custom layouts and style elements for each page.
  • Because we used a commercial WordPress theme, we were able to keep the budget low while still creating a website with a unique art-house feel.
  • Customizations include animated testimonials, lazy-loading gallery and video walk-throughs of cornerstone projects.

Why our partnership is legen-dairy

Based on how much fun we have together, you might think that our dev+marketer relationship comes easy. And for the most part, it does! (Sarah and I just naturally click.)

But then there’s the other part—the part where we come at projects differently. She’s looking at the longer-term marketing angle, and I’m hyper-focused on specific functionality. She speaks like a regular person, and I add < > to everything.

The keys to successful marketer + dev collabs

So, why do we continue to work so well together? Turns out, we’ve been applying some of ZipBoard’s sage advice for successful marketer and developer collaborations all these years—without knowing it!

For every project we collaborate on together, we:

  • Set clear + common goals.
  • Communicate in a common (visual) language.
  • Remain flexible with each other.
  • Explain not only “what” should be done, but also “why.”

A few more fun facts

  • Mad Cow and InkRiot have been BFFs since 2015.
  • However, we’ve only seen each other in person twice! (Thank goodness for Zoom calls.)
  • Sarah handles all things marketing (including design and content), and I take care of custom coding, e-commerce and fancy functionality.

Turns out, life really is a riot when you get to partner with amazing people to do amazing work. And over the past 15 years, we’ve simply had a blast working on anything that brings our two teams together.

If you’re looking for an amazing marketing partner, hit up Sarah at Inkriot Marketing. We promise you it’ll be a riot in the best way possible.
