Taking Care of Business Ourselves

I’m sure we can all agree that times have been a little challenging lately, more so than usual.

So I want to use this li’l space right here for some self-care.

I saw this 60-second stress management exercise by life coach Shanna Pranaitis, and it requires just one thing: something you can easily hold in your hands.

Of course, I’m grabbing Patty, our lovable stress cow. (Hit me up if you need one!) 🐮

Let’s get to the stress-management exercise:

  1. On a scale of 1-10, note how anxious or nervous you feel.
  2. Grab something you can easily hold in your hands and start passing it back and forth, crossing your body.
  3. Do this for about a minute, allowing those feelings to dissipate.
  4. When you stop, see where you are on the 1-10 scale.
  5. Repeat as needed.

 

Why this exercise works:

This simple exercise spreads out the activity in your brain, and your brain can’t hold onto everything at once.
